Wedding Catering Trends for 2013

What’s the best part about this year’s wedding catering trends?  There is no need to learn how to spell the word hors d’oeuvres!  Wedding savories are expected to take an elegant turn for 2013 as catering experts expect receptions to see plated dinners with elaborate formal settings!  Say bye-bye to buffet style and farewell to finger foods!  It’s time to polish up the silver and try to recall where exactly that tiny fork goes!

What wedding catering trends are couples-to-be going to be dishing up in 2013?
Get out your palette’s passport because wedding catering is going back to the couple’s roots!  Culinary creations that give a nod to the couples heritage will be huge at receptions and rehearsal dinners!  Expecting picky guests at your reception?  Instead of going insanely international, try incorporating a few appetizers that your ancestors would adore!

One of the most anticipated aspects (to some) of attending a wedding reception is definitely the booze.  2013′s wedding adult beverage trends are going to be way more exciting than the sound of the champagne cork popping!  Trendy couples are going coo-coo for craft cocktails this year!  No more boring beverages, brides-and-grooms-to-be are going all out with artisanal concoctions created by master mixologists scouted from the hippest of nightlife hangouts.  Expect to see signature cocktails in honor of the bride and groom sporting cute names that add personal touches to their libations!  Wedding cater trends are even working their way into normally traditional aspects of a wedding — the toast!  Infused champagne bars are putting a 2013 twist on a wedding reception classic by infusing exotic additives like lavender and elderflower into the bubbly!

Go easy on this next wedding catering trend for 2013!  Tequila is going to be the big star at reception bars!  It’s slated to be the liquor of the year for 2013′s wedding trends! Sounds like the Advil from your Mojuba Couple’s Packages will be much appreciated after this!

Wedding Invitation Trends for 2013

Your wedding invitation is a HUGE aspect of your big day!  The invitation is the first impression your guests have about your wedding and will set the tone for the excitement they feel about your big day!  A boring invitation is interpreted as a potentially boring wedding!  Just like all wedding trends, wedding invitation trends change yearly as well!  Curious to know what the wedding invitation trends for 2013 are?  Well, look no further than Mojuba!

Bright and bold seems to be “in” this year!  Both neon and metallic foil are expected to be huge this year!  A bit too bold for your bridal taste?  Neon is being used as an accent color for wedding invitations in 2013.  So, think neutral tones for your invitation but with pops of neon in the trim and text or possibly the lining of your envelope.  There are many ways to incorporate this wedding invitation trend for 2013.

Metallic flare on wedding invitations has been a wedding invitation trend for a while now. It looks like wedding invitation trends for 2013 is no exception!  Invitation experts expect brides to remain mad about metallics this year.  Add this wedding invitation trend to your invite by incorporating metallic foil or stamping.

Patterned invites with Moroccan, honey-comb, and chevron patterns are also a wedding invitation trend for 2013 prediction!  Chevron has been in for quite sometime now!  What are your thoughts on this trend?  Love it or over it?

Whether or not these trends are on point with your bridal style is up for you to decide!  Just keep in mind that your wedding invitation IS your first impression for your guests!

Hope you are hungry!  Tomorrow I’ll dish on the hottest wedding catering trends for 2013!

Wedding Floral Trends for 2013

As we bloom into 2013, top wedding designers have predicted that THE flower choice among brides this year will be the peony!  Available in a wide range of color options, the peony happens to be my favorite flower!

One floral wedding trend for 2013 that I am not so sure about is cascading bouquets!  Hugely popular in the 80′s, cascading bouquets are set to make a comeback this year.  Even Princess Diana carried a cascading bouquet on her big day!  While the cascading bouquet may be good enough for royalty, it’s just not my absolute favorite look.

Table arrangements seem to have taken a turn for the green!  While over-the-top, floral monstrosities seemed to be all the rage this year, 2013′s table-top decor makes a move to a more subtle, yet interesting look with floral garland!  Comprised mainly from greenery, garland can also be made using a bride’s favorite blooms!

Wedding Bells and Bunnies

Playboy’s founder Hugh Hefner married his 26 year old girlfriend Crystal Harris on New Year’s Eve at an intimate ceremony held at the mogul’s famous Playboy Mansion.  Hefner and Harris finally tied the knot even after the much younger Harris called off their plans to wed in 2011!  Second time is a charm I guess!

The now Queen of Playboy donned this gorgeous pink mermaid wedding dress by designer Romona Keveza.  This gown is the original gown purchased for Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris’s first attempt at wedded bliss in 2011  Let’s hope the couple isn’t superstitious!  Although her dress was original, the bling was not!  Harris sold her first engagement ring from Hefner in an auction after she ditched him in 2011!

I bet Crystal could have used a wedding day emergency kit to get her through her big day!  Congrats to the happy couple and a happy new year to you all from the Mojuba team!
